Robaco Bossá

The Dutch DJ/Producer Robaco Bossá, winner of Defected’s Best Producer Competition,
born in Amersfoort in 1988 had a burning passion for music from the age of 11. He started his musical career with drumming, but swiftly moved on to combining his own beats with other instruments.

Through the years, Robaco developed as a producer and developed a keen interest in house music. He became fascinated with this style of music and decided to focus himself on it entirely. He soon discovered he could anticipate what people want to hear at parties in his DJ sets and developed an energetic combination from tech, electro & minimal house, stirred up with a lot of groovy and funky sounds, with which he made numerous dance floors shake. It is no wonder that his talent was soon discovered and he was asked to perform as the resident at the Karseboom in Amersfoort and at the event HotSenses in 2008. Soon after that, clubs like The Level, Monza, Hotel Arena, Club 7 and Hollywood Music Hall followed suit and began regularly booking the young DJ.

At the end of 2008 he had his first record deal; his first release ‘Bounce It Up’, with Roger Sanchez’ worldwide ‘Release yourself’ radioshow giving support to the track and helping it reach an, internationally audience. In 2009 Robaco’s career continued its rapid rise with him winning a DJ contest in the area of Utrecht. At this point he had several releases to his name under 5 different labels and his sounds were receiving support from established names in the dance scene such as Roger Sanchez, The Shapeshifters, David Penn, Laidback Luke, Housequake (DJ Roog & Erick E), Chuckie, Gregor Salto and Youri Donatz to name a few…

Robaco Bossá spread his wings also outside the Netherlands with his track ‘Black Bird’ and gained considerable notoriety by winning Defected’s worldwide Producer Competition’, the largest contest of its kind to have ever been held. With his track released on Defected Records and a studio session in the United Kingdom with the No.1 selling artists the Shapeshifters, Robaco starts to develop himself as an internationally recognised artist.

It’s a sure bet that the name Robaco Bossá will continue to grow.
